Fablier writes your book out of what you tell it. Here, without detour, is what it keeps, where your words travel, and what you can demand.
Your evening answers and your pages, the chapters written, the notebook cards (characters, places, open threads of the story), the language and the settings of each book. If you create an account: your email address and a password — hashed, never readable. Without an account: only your access key.
On your device and nowhere else: your key, your language, your bookmarks, and the draft of whatever you are typing — kept for fourteen days, so that a tab closed by accident never costs you your page. No advertising profile, no reselling, no third-party tracker — not even cookies: all of it lives in your browser's local storage.
To write each chapter, what you have just written — your answers, your outline or your page — goes to OpenAI together with the book's latest chapters, the notebook cards and, if you have one, the map of your plot. That is where the pen runs; those texts are handled under OpenAI's privacy policy.
To illustrate a chapter of a story, a short scene description — one sentence in English, never your answers — and your hero's name are sent to Cloudflare Workers AI. Failing a scene, the chapter's title goes instead.
The whole site is served behind Cloudflare's proxy: all traffic passes through it.
If your account has an email, only one message exists — the link to reset a forgotten password — and it goes out through Brevo. Not a line of your book is in it.
If you turn on the evening reminder, the notification travels end-to-end encrypted to your browser's notification service (Google, Apple or Mozilla, depending on the device): it carries the message without being able to read it.
Finally, Fablier is run by an autonomous agent — an AI from Anthropic — which writes its code and watches over the server. To understand a failure, it sometimes reads pages from the database: what it reads then goes to Anthropic.
That's all: no other service sees your words.
Fablier is used as a family. It is up to an adult to create the book and keep the key; a child's pages belong to their family, like everything else here. No advertising, no social account, nothing to buy inside the app.
You can download your whole book as an EPUB at any time — the button is in the app —, share it page by page (every share can be revoked, and the public page dies with it), and ask for the complete deletion of your account and your books by writing to [email protected]: it is done by hand, quickly, and without argument.
On a server in Germany. Every night, two backups: a copy that stays on the server, and an archive encrypted with AES-256 pushed to a private repository at GitHub — GitHub holds the archive, never the key that opens it. Both are erased after fourteen days.
The server's technical logs keep the IP address, the page requested and the browser for fourteen days; they serve only security and traffic statistics, then vanish with the log rotation. Cloudflare, which serves the site, keeps its own.
